Need advice quickly please!! Bridgeport Torque 30 CNC

First off thank for your time.

Ok I have an opportunity to pick up a Bridgeport Torgue 30 for $3000.

The machine is very clean, looks newish on the outside.

One problem though. It will freeze during tool changes on the X axis. I am a newbie, but own a gun business and will learn how to use it. I have a small cnc x2 now I am getting the hang of.

My question is with this problem, what value would you put on it? I guess if I am forced to sell it soon, what could I get for it? Just wanna make sure I have options if I can't run it, or can't get it wired etc.

    Thanks Morgan

    Get it.
For that price you can always change the tools by hand. or set it up as a driling machine.

Probably the spindle drift if off. That is the most common problem when it freezes in a tool change be it can be other things. Do a S0M3. If the actual RPM is 2 RPM or higher, the drift needs adjustment on the spindle drive.
Otherwise, every thing the tool change does has verification. Tool changer forward is verified by a switch, tool release verified by a switch, etc. It might stop due to not seeing a verification switch.
By the way, that is cheap!

What would you adjust on the drive to adjust the drift?
One of my machines at M3S0 keeps turning. About 15rpm max but sort of hunting.
Would it be a positioning setting or a speed setting?
    Thanks

Believe it is CN7 parameter on the spindle drive. I would have to be in front of one to figure it out. You can download a PDF of the drive adjustment procedure at the Yaskawa web site. But usually I have to play with this and parameter 71 spindle gain which is a control software parameter. Going back and forth between the 2 to keep the drift at a minimum and the spindle speed as close as possible to command.

I know about the CN7 parameter and have adjusted it before but didnt know about the #71 spindle gain. Ill check it out.

    Edit
Checked it out and there is no #71. Spindle control parameters are in the 3700 series of Parameters. Ill check those out.

The TC-30 had a DX-32 control. The spindle gain is parameter 71. I just played with it and the drift on a siemens spindle drive today.
Sounds like you have a Fanuc control?
