    what sort of redution ratio

    I'm fitting series 1 steppers to a bridgeport clone what sort of redution ratio should I go for

    Andrew, the series 1 that they came off had a 2.5:1 reduction so I would suggest that you use that, but it will also depend on your ballscrew pitch I suppose.

    any idea of the pitch? oh and also did you manage to get the heatsinks off?

    not sure of the pitch yet looks like 5 tpi
    heat sinks came of no problem just stuck on the o rings pressed them of
    hope to try them on the ark controller at the weekend

    Let me know how they perform especially what you think of these Arc drives.
    I think the Series 1 is same pitch as that so 2.5:1 might be the best, although I seem to remember someone saying that some of the series 1 were 1:1.
