    RS232 Bridgeport Boss 5

    Hello,

I need help for my BP Boss 5, I made an accident when hook up to power source, 1 of hot wire switch to ground wire, then I reconnect property,RS232 not working, any other functions work well.
Now I could not transfer program from PC to machine. Type manual too hard.
    Anyone Help, Please.

    Thank you very much

I have found while troubleshooting my son's Bridgeport Series I CNC that a weak link in the RS-232 communications system is the Line Driver and Line Receiver ICs on the ERS CCA (IC4 and IC9). These chips are easily damaged if you have an inadequate ground between the CNC and external computer. If you have an oscilloscope, you can trace the RS-232 signal on the ERS CCA. Convenient test points are provided. These chips are fairly easy to change since they are Dual In Line (DIP) packages.
    Good luck,
    Rick
