Hi, I've been offered a J-Type spindle complete with bearings but I went over to the guys place and checked out the spindle. It looks as if someone has changed the bearings as theirs marks on the spindle like its been in a vice. The two lower bears are ball type, one assumes anglar contact. I've looked around the web and wondered if these were supposed to be roller type based upon the milling loads placed on the spindle when at work? If anyone knows and could just confirm the type of lower two bearings it would be great. Thanks Dan |

| The Fafnir bearings are special qualified and preloaded 207's for the bottom and a special qualified 6206 for the top of the spindle. DO NOT think for a minute that "generic" 6206 or 6207's will work as well. The will roll but not "work" well. |
