Gecko 203V Bridgeport stepper wiring

Looking for BP stepper motor parallel wiring schematic with phase connection to G203V drives. Been lurking awhile, haven't found a straight forward diagram. Thank You

Which motors do you have? The Superiors or the Sigmas?

Connect motor terminals 1&5 to /A

Connect motor terminals 3&6 to A

Connect motor terminals 2&7 to /B

Connect motor terminals 4&8 to B

(If the motor runs in the wrong direction, switch the A and /A leads)

Thanks! I actually found this setup on another post but was looking for clarification. Would this be a parallel wiring ?

Yes, this would be a parallel connection: the coil with leads 5&3 is in parallel with the coil with leads 6&1, and the coil with leads 7&4 is in parallel with the coil with leads 8&2.

I am also using my old bridgeport steppers and Gecko 203V's. How can you the differance between Sigma and Superior motors? Is the wiring that different?

Thanks for the Help.

The terminals on the end of the motors are arranged differently; this makes it easy to tell the difference. The attached pics are scanned from the BP wiring diagram.

You're welcome! If you have the superior motors, I do have some info on parallel bi-polar wiring, but I have not verified it. It is completely different from the sigma wiring.

I keep reading about parallel and series wiring but I dont know enough to know why you would do one and not the other. Does it matter? Is there a place on cnczone that explains this more. I dont want to hijack this thread.
