Check the spindle motor overload to see if it is tripped. You did not say if you regained actual use of the spindle.

i inadvertantly stalled the spindle on my r2e3 bport, the other day. Since then I have lost my brake and spindle speed control. If I disconnect the air hose the brake cylinder will move freely and the brake functions if operated by hand. It seems as if the solenoids are frozen. Anyone have a clue as to what I can do to restore thier operation? Thanks

George,
Thanks for your response.
Let me start by telling you that, this mill has been converted to vari-phase, from 3ph. I had to push the reset button to get the spindle to work, but then the function of the brake and speed control did not return. I read on another post of the same type of problem, so I have looked for the motor overload, in the upper right hand corner of the elec. box, and I do not see it. So I guess it went away with the conversion. As I was reading your post, my neighbor showed up with a friend who is an electrician. I had also received a post from John, in Canada, refering to the fuses # 10,12,13,and 19, that feed the brake and speed control functions. Fortunatly these items, from the old wiring were still being utilized, so we trace things out, and found that the transformer that feeds those fuses, was dead. So, I think we have found the problem. Now to find a replacement transformer, and reinstall it. I will repost, and tell you the results.
Thanks much to you and John for the assistance.
