    DLI board

I believe that that stands for " Don't Look for Intelligence" as this I believe should have been written on the diagram as ELI board (I notice that there were over 7 revisions and no one noticed). The ELI board is in rear cabinet next to the radio knobs (backlash adjustment) just above PS2

Ok, checked all wiring between encoder, servo and FMDC board, ELI board and servo drives. All checked ok.

I suspect maybe a IC on the FMDC board, will try swapping some chips between another axis.....wish me luck.

I noticed there is one jumper connection missing on the FMDC board. Not sure if it should be there will post pic later

    Exclamation Drift on drives?

Thanks George, tachs go to drive boards and also tee off to ELI board.

If you were to venture a guess would you suspect encoder fault or tach gen fault? So the tach gen supplies power feedback to drive? Marker pulse would give?

    Regards
    Doug

Have you ohmed out the cable?
I remember that the encoders go to the FMDC. I used to pull the connector on each axis to set the drift (balance) on the axis drive boards. If I was to venture a guess, the tachs also go to the axis drive boards. Have to find a set of prints. It has been a while.
