which spindle does it have?
i have a tnc2500 interact 2 bridgeport. for some reason when i run M03 it does as it should run in the normal direction. but then when i run M04 to run the spindle in reverse, it runs the same way as M03. The main problem i'm having is i want to run a tapping cycle but when it it gets to the bottom of the hole it clicks and stops as if it is going to run backwards to extract back out but it runs the same way again.
is the a PARAMETER problem or is there a serious problem with the machine?
which spindle does it have?
not sure. how would i find that info?
A interact 2 typically means it has a vari-drive mechanical head. But a Interact 1 Mk2 has a electronic spindle drive. We need to know such details to help.

its your tipical series 2 interact 2 with tnc2500 control. so i would say its vari-drive. but cant be sure. it has hi range/low range switch on the front which seems to be forward or reverse when opperated, and a hi-neutral-lo selector lever on the side if that helps.
It does not reverse
control could do it, but machine does not
rigid tapping was not so common back when
there is another problem too. on the control i can override the feed rate and the spindle speed. the feed overide works fine but the spindle speed adjusts on display but the actual speed never changes.
The control does not control the spindle other than to turn it on and off
