Acu-Rite MillPWR 3 Axes DSP Fault

Ok, so I inherited a MillPWR 3 Axes CNC Controller and have been working thru some issues to get the machine online. I believe the readers are working properly as I was getting FTO's not detected. That's been cleared. The system will "find home" and I can start to program work. Now when the machine begins to move it will stop and show "DSP Fault, Software Limit Reached"

I'm new to CNC, but have the manuals and am not totally lost. However I can't find anything that relates to a "DSP Fault" or even what DSP is.

    Sure will appreciate any help!

The DSP ( digital signal prosesor ) is giving the message because your soft limits are not setup. It is never a good idea to remove a battery from a controls CPU unless you know what the default bios settings required are and how to set them. When the battery is removed the bios resets to its defaults not necessarily the defaults the control manufacture intended. Remember this is not Like a desktop if the bios is set incorrectly it can cause the machine to react unexpectedly. The soft limits for that control are found under install setup.

[Whyme] is correct It is the travel limits. You will need to do all axises X,Y and Z. It is easier to do Z with the front cover off so you can see the overtravel switches.
