I have a friend with an EZ-Trak DX and he can only boot up with a floppy. My guess is that the boot directory on the hard disk is corrupt because the machine runs fine after boot from the floppy. I suppose it is possible that the hard disk in inoperable. Does anyone have suggestions? A general overview would be great to know. For instance: What OS is used? Where are files available (if needed)? Can any computer be used? Is there a proprietary Bridgeport board in the computer? Thanks!

| Okay, a few more details... On boot-up there is a keyboard error. I changed the BIOS so this no longer occurs. Now the error is: "HDD controller error" The hard disk seems to spin and work mechanically. My thought is a corrupt boot sector or the controller card has failed. I believe the former is more likely. Does anyone know how to re-install the boot info and where to get it? I have a floppy that will boot, can I get those files on to the HDD? Thanks!

| Are the CMOS parameters for the hard drive correct? Do you know how to attach a full size keyboard? Do you know how to get to DOS? What version of DOS is being used? George

I believe so. The HDD used to work fine and there has been no changes to the CMOS since then. However, when I had the CMOS check the HDD parameters, it could not find the HDD. Yes. No. I tried hitting F8 on boot up, but it didn't work. Don't know.
