not the correct syntax
I never run my older machines like this but you need to create a tool table, named I think 'TOOL'
I do not know the internal form of the program
Hello ... I'm programming my Bridgeport Interact w/ Heidenhain 151B in ISO. Going through the Heidenhain manual, I see that tool definitions are given in the program with a G99 command ... no problem there. However, i would like to define my tooling outside of the program. Can I do this?
For instance, earlier in the Heidenhain manual it mentions a "central tool memory" on page P14 (Heidenhain 151B & Q Operator's Manual); however, when I follow the directions (specifically hit the "edit program" button and then "TOOL DEF" botton) it says that the key is not valid. I assume its because I'm in ISO mode ... is this correct?
If so, is there a way to define tools other than in a program ... in the controller's "central tool memory"?
Many thanks!

I figured it out ... machine parameter 225, in a Heidenhain 151B, should be set to '1' in order to use a "central tool memory". Now I can enter tool definitions outside of a program ...
