Information wanted on Bridgeport VMC 760...

    Does anyone know these machines?

    Good or Bad?
They are all box way, no?
Do they have linear scales on the axis or encoders or resolvers?
What is the brand of the drives/motors?

I am looking at one for possible control retrofit.
    Thanks!

Box way. Typically has the Bridgeport control, and Siemens drives and motors. Encoders in the motors for the position loop.

Thanks. Are the drives in the Bridgeport DX32 machine analog (+/-10v) or digitally controlled? Thinking maybe of getting one of these and ditching the control for a retrofit.

Per service bulletin 376 dated 5/23/64 all vmc760dx32 use siemens digital drive for the spindle. These are Simodrive 611.

OK, have to look that up. Are the axis servos digital as well?

    Thanks!
