I am looking for a source for parts or service for a Bridgeport Interact 412 VMC with the Heidenhain TNC 151. This is a 1986 vintage machine with Bosch dives for each axis. I get a "z-axis drive fault" when attempting to move the failed axis and the TRf led on the drive board lights. I have been able to work around by swapping x, y and z axis boards, but a 2-axis CNC mill with the other axis frozen has serious limitations and takes lots of steps/ parameter changes to get the controller to ignore the missing axis. The Bridgeport part number from the service manual for the board is 1551446 from the manual from www,machinemanuals.net. The Bosch part number is 170-050440-3017 from the number on the solder mask of the board. The board is all thru component type so if I knew what chip or component had failed I could replace that item. Has anyone had any experience with this fault? Is there a quick fix? Does anyone know of surplus or spare parts available? |

| Had this a while ago on a 155 controller and it was the Z axis encoder. May be your problem maybe not. We contacted Heidenhain in the UK and they talked us thru a check list. They couldn't have been more helpful. John S. |

| Thanks for the reply. I had hoped for somthing like that, but I swapped drive boards from the X to Z axis and found the fault followed the board. I will try Hidenhain in the morning to see if they have any experience with this fault. |

| Unfortunately, getting these fixed is rather difficult. We even sent one directly to BOSCH in Germany and they could not fix it. There was a place in the Carolinas called PHOENIX where we managed to get it fixed. Even EMI have not had any success in creating a replacement. Try Alan at my office in parts, central time, to see if he has any new news on these BOSCH repairs. 1-800-245-2598. George

I found this old post today, I have the exact machine with the same problem. If you had luck finding a board for your 412 let me know, if you are parting it out because you couldnt find one also let me know. jeff |

| Jeff, I found a shop near Dallas that would attempt a fix for $2400 no promises of a fix so I shelved the unit for a while. I plan on a retrofit and would sell the remaining two boards i have for $900 each if you want to keep yours alive for a while longer. Let me know if you want to try them out. I can also search for the repair shop number if you are interesetd in the repair option. Good luck. |

| I would be interested in one or both of the boards you have, this is my only machine and I just recived more purchase orders from the medical company I do work for. If you wanted to give me a package price for both i would be cool with that, if not I will certainly take one of them. We can work off line if you want, email me jeffb@northeastairsealing.com and we can work out the details. Thanks, Jeff |
