So i started ripping into my 2J head, to find the source of the noise when running. I have it down below the timing gears and can't find anything bad. I just looked at the motor thinking i may need bushings for the vari-disk, but found quite a lot of room between the bottom shiv and the motor shaft. Am i missing something in there other than a new bushing? |

| Older motor adjustable Vari discs had black bushings epoxied in. they were very thin. Maybe .030 inch in thickness. And a key with a steel core and 3 side plastic. I never glued new bushings in because I had to guarantee my work and trying to maintain the disc running true in all axis (and balanced) is not easy so I would purchase new discs. Having said that the new motor adjustable varidisc from Bridgeport came with a molded Plastic (Turcite?) bushing and key. And was balanced. This new type bushing was a lot thicker than the original black inserts. George
