| I have to check but the BSP2 and EZIO are the same. The drives boards and motors are different. Trying to remember about the FMDC. I know the BOSS 8 had a different one between the series 1 and 2. The BOSS 9 may just need a DIP switch flipped on the FMDC. What does the machine do? Or not do? George

| Thanks for the info on the cards. It would not run at all for 2 days before that it was running ok for 2 minutes then it would shut down . Im suspecting supply voltage to this may be more sensitive than most machines which they tell me can take 10% ,its usally 245V single phase & out of my phase perfect unit its the same 3 phase voltage feeding it.Checking voltages in this it seems there are 3 power supplies 5vdc,12vdc & 24vdc and some are within the range and some high when the supply is high , im guessing some may be regulated becuase it would not run for 2 days at 245V until I started another machine and pulled the voltage down to 242.5 then it ran . Do I need a transformer to drop the single phase V. going into the electronic phase perfect unit and if so what size & type. The machine has always had the two good AC legs on the controls, I use to use a home made rotary on it but lacked full power form it Metaler |

| It looked like the wire was it when it ran yesterday , but the its backto not running again toady I did get it to run for a few minutes , with the voltage pulled down to 442 Im still thinking it needs to be lower does anyone now if its critical ? tag on machine says 230 volts book says 230 to 240 Last edited by metaler; 10-19-2005 at 07:35 AM. |

I believe most of the supplies are adjustable with potentiometers. Do you have the maintenance manual? If you havn't already done it, reseat all the cards and reseat chips on all the boards. You might also inspect all the capacitors... on my machine some of the electrolytics on the power board had blown up (of course this didn't stop my machine from running either...) james |

| It ran for 1/2 hr 1 time today IM going to try to get in the front panel friday and reseat things. it acts like Im getting close . Do you know if the 12 volts DC and the 5VDC are coming from the regulated power supply thats on the side with all the cards. What did yours act like with capictors burned ? thanks Gary |

When I first got my machine it acted a bit flakey. The solution was two fold... first I removed all the cards, cleaned the edge connectors and reseated all the chips. Socketed chips tend to creep out of their sockets over time causing bad connections. If you lay the boards down on a flat surface and press evenly down on the chips... you will hear a small snap as they work down into the sockets. After all this was done, the machine ran very well but seemed to overheat... solving this was as simple as putting an extra fan in the electronics enclosure. The blown cap didn't seem to effect it much, although I'm assuming that would increase power supply ripple. Have you measured all the supplies and their noise levels? I'm not sure what age your machine is, but electrolytic capacitors (the round ones) tend to dry out and go bad with age. Replacing all the caps is pretty cheap/easy and might help things out. Start with the reseating though... older electronics always needs reseating periodically. james |

| Chapter 7 of your manual should give all the voltages to look for as well as the acceptable range and what wires to measure them at. George

| I found the adjustable pot on the logic power supply and adjusted it down to what the specs called for 5.04 and it runs great now . I used it 4 hrs today and shut it off it was still running , its only got 1 fan I leave the door cracked. Forgot to say the Dcv was 5.25 many thanks George & James for the help Gary |
