Is it possible to stop the program on a DX-32 controller and stop the spindle then restart it and continue the program? For example, if I wanted to stop the machine to go to lunch and resume it after I return, what is the proper way to achieve this? I can Hold the program, Stop the Spindle (F2) but I don't know how to restart the spindle without having to do an S_T_M (S1000M03) function. Then I loose my place in the program. |

| What if you put in a op stop and place the main part of the program in a macro or loop. Thus it will call a tool, you start the spindle, go into your macro or loop and make a part, the program stops due to the op stop, change the part, say go again and it runs the macro or loop again. Just a thought. George

| If you press hold and stop the spindle, or stop it at a op stop, I guess you could go to lunch, restart the spindle and press cycle start. Do not know if cutter comp would still be active though. I thought you wanted to change parts without stopping the spindle in the last post. Sorry. George

| Seems like such a simple task but I can't find a simple solution. What I am doing in the meantime is pressing Hold and turning the Spindle Override down if the spindle is running at a high RPM and then when I return, turn the spindle RPM back up and press Run to continue the program. I have the VFD spindle so I can slow it down quite a bit. I'd also like to get to the Maintenace Page while running a program but controller doesn't seem to allow it. |

| But you can run a program from the maintenance page. that is how we can set the spindle parameters for rigid tapping on the VMC machines. George

| Maybe it's because I started the program from the Menus page instead of the Maintenance page. I would try to exit the Run Page and navigate to the Maintenance page by selecting F5 and I would alway get a message like Cannot Exit while machine is in Run or something to that effect. I will try that. Maybe I can restart the spindle in the middle of the program if I stop it if I run the program from the Maintenance Page. |
