I have a 1998 machine that I recently acquired. I have been reading the threads about vibration and wondered if that is why the Y axis is noisy. In the manual mode, both ball screws are very quiet but in the jog mode, the Y axis makes a grinding noise but the X axis does not. Is this vibration in the servo motor? Thanks, Jim |

| Most likely this is the cause, as noted in the threads you have read. I never let it bother me, since I did not own the machine. I reported it to the owner. The owner did not repair it. So I ran the hell out of it. Never stopped running while I worked there.
