DX-32 Mother Board

How can I identify a DX-32 Mother Board? I would like to purchase a "New" or "Reconditioned" Mother Board for a Bridgeport Explorer. Where can I find one priced reasonably? EMI charges around $800.00.

Many Thanks,

Bob

If it's that same as the one in my late 90's V2XT then it's a FIC VA503+ motherboard. They show up on Ebay every now and then. I bought an extra one few months back for $49 and it included a 233Mhz CPU.
Hope that helps. It makes my stomach turn at what EMI wants to charge for a decade old regular run of the mill pc motherboard.

I find that thrift stores and dumpster diving are good sources for these older mother boards. You need a ISA slot for the BMDC. That is what makes finding a new board so hard. Also due to the snails pace clock speed of the BMDC, the clock speed of the mother board has to be low, very low. Another limiting factor.

The clock speed is slow in today's standards but the VA-503+ motherboard that came in my very late model V2XT (one of the last off the line I believe) has a bus speed of 100 MHz or 133MHZ (dependent on memory jumper). My V2XT is running the stock VA-503+ motherboard with a pentium 233 MHz processor, and Win 98 OS. I put the bigger processor in it that came with a back-up VA-503+ motherboard that I bought off Ebay for peanuts. The original processor was a 100MHz Pentium.
