Bridgeport VMC 560 problem

Hello

Have a problem with a Bridgeport VMC 560, TNC 370 control, Siemens 611 drives.

After powering up the machine & going through the start up sequence the ER unit does not power up. The 3 phase to the unit is ok but the 24v supply is missing. Have tried to trace back to the source of the 24v but without success, the circuit diagrams don't show this. Not sure at this point if the ER unit has failed or the 24v is the problem.

Can anyone help please?!

Thanks in advance

Phil

If you can't see a green light and a yellow light on the ER unit when machine powers up, the ER unit is definitely faulty.

You should have two 24V power supplies in your electrical cabinet. Find them, and verify that they are working correctly. If you're having trouble, call Rick at heidenhain - 847-519-4858

I got two of these when my 24V power supplies went out (TNC2500b), they are great for sensitive equipment and have less 'ripple' than the specs required by heidenhain. Don't cheap out on the power supplies. I've been running these for 6 months.

FEAS GmbH - Netzteil PSUG243

They are less than the originals (impossible to find anyway) and better, completely sealed.

i had the same problem with a Heidenhain 410 (digital)

the power module of the simodrive was responsible. After repairing it twice at a local electronic repair shop, i exchanged it with a overhaulded one.

My simodrive is a digital model and the replasment cost wαs about 2000€
