Problem- Bridgeport Interact 2 Series 2 Problem

Hi there,
I have had a search about on this forum and the net in general and have found some advice but would like some from the experts on here.

I have a Bridgeport Interact 2 Series 2 with a TNC2500.

The machine has an intermittent fault. 'Gross Positioning Error X D'. It seems this is one of the more regular faults error messages with this machine.
It occurs at odd times, and not always at the same table location or feedrate.

I have swapped the x and Y axis motor/encoder assemblies over, and the error still occurs in the x axis.
The bedways are not tight, lubrication is reaching them, and can be moved by rotating the belt by hand with no tight spots anywhere.

Could someone please suggest all the possibilities (like faulty wiring, drive card etc.) so I can get a list together for the electrician to work through when I call him this week.

I would look at parameter 1110,but if nobody has adjusted the parameters the problem is more likely to be the drive for that axis needing a bit fine tuning.

Can you think of any reason why this would cause the problem to be intermittent?

Error D on a Heidenhain control is a standstill supervision one.Which means that the error the control is seeing is more than the amount set in Par 1110 so you have to look through all the things that can affect that.
Drive settings,motor/tacho/encoder/cables can all affect that.
Are they SEM motors and Bosch drives on that machine?

Yeah the motors are SEM and the three drives are all bosch. Might this have a bearing on where the problem might be?
