Hey all, I have been considering building a gantry style CNC for a few months now, but I found an Bridgeport R2E3 that apparently isn’t working. The guy says that “the machine starts to go through the diagnostic/startup mode, but after that nothing will happen”… I was a jet mechanic and I am now a software engineer and a home hobbyist. This would be my first fray into the CNC/conversion world... This guy wants to cut his losses, and is willing to take less than he paid at an auction, (I don’t know how much). Is it realistic to convert this model to CNC? What kind of price do you think it would run, and how much do you think this unit is in unknown condition? Thanks everyone!  |
