I have a Series 1 CNC, which was originally a BOSS 5, but is now a PC with EMC2 and Geckos. Unfortunately, as we're getting ready to finish up reassembly, discovered that the skirt which cover the Y ways front and back have about rotted away. Anyone have a good source for original skirts or a material from which to make skirts? Thanks Tom |

Yes. Unfortunately, lately I've been doing point to point wiring, which really doesn't make for good picture opportunities. Ordered a replacement skirt kit from ICAI, which came Friday, and was installed. Kit was designed for a manual Bridgeport, so had to be modified slightly. Glad you asked, as I was sitting here bored silly, mostly exhausted after our railroad run day yesterday. I'll go take a couple of pictures tonight and post them. |

| While I realize it's too late to help you, I face the same issue with my Series II and will be resorting to Lowes for the liner material they put in showers (before the tile guy comes to do his thing). The flexible 36" wide roll goods material is machine-gray instead of black and about the same thickness (a fat 1/16th) as what's there. I don't yet know if it's compatible with usual chemicals like mineral spirits, cutting fluid, way lube, etc. but absent something else falling in my lap this is what I am going to use during my slow progress with Bertha (sorry to threakjack). |
