Need Help!- ez mill issues

Hey yall,

Got an on going issue with my hardinge ez plus mill. I get a constant z dac over + under flow error. The machine will not even home any longer. I hear a clunking noise from the servo, trying to move the quill to move to home position - but it wont budge. Mechanically it is free, no binding or jams. I can move the z axis hand lever with some effort, all the while hearing the z servo try to fight my moving it. At first the machine kicks out a z dac error when i try to move the quill manually, then it shuts off power to all axis (im sure a safety feature).

Is there anything i can do to remedy this situation, short of calling in bpt to service it?

Something i can test/repair/replace....
