Bridgeport y axis servo mount

Have a Bridgeport Boss 4. Wanting to upgrade control and go to servos. My question is on the Y axis the servo motor doesn't fit. I would like to avoid mounting the motor sticking out the front and instead make a mounting plate that slants down 45 degrees in order to mount the servo close to the X axis servo. Is the original configuration that holds the Y axis stepper motor also the bearing housing for the Y axis ball screw? Has anyone done this before?
Also when using servos is it better to use the 1:1 pulley ratio or what?

different models have different amounts of clearance in the knee casting. I think I would expand the hole with a grinder or find a new servo motor before I reengineered the y axis

It would have to be a very big servo not to fit, If the system was 1/1 then stay the same & yes the front housing has the bearings in it that support the ballscrew

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, for the replies. Any chance on getting the make and model of the servo pictured by mactec54. I was concerned about this do to the responses that the Keling servo's were just to long to fit.
