Just wanted to show my troubles in the world of CNC

Well I've been busy lately so I finally get home and start on my CNC retrofit of a Bridgeport series II interact. This morning I was testing out to see if my Main spindle motor was working.

Powered everything up and a Faint "Hum" from the motor and no spin. Turns out I blew a fuse. Nothing big right? try again? same thing

I start to Ohm out the phases in the motor....and find out one of the three phases is shot. Wonderful... SO I knew what I had to do, OFF WITH IT'S HEAD

So I did and here's some pics of my adventures today.

So I'm sure I've done this wrong, I'm paraniod as hell about the speed control. The manual says I was supposed to turn on the spindle motor and run the RPM into the red then turn it off so the motor was proper position for motor removal. But my motor is inoperable so that was out of the question. SO if anyone has any nice words about how those go back together I'm all ears

I hope the motor rewind place is open tomarrow...........

I also have a Bridgeport Series II Interact 2. It is an awesome machine. You will be happy once you fix it. I had to throw out the control and retrofit.

I know I used all your referance pics for digging into my machine. Also made a handy PDF printout of your photo manual (I bless you sir for posting it)

Your machine was in so much better condition than mine, I am jealous of it but i'm "Learning" so much.

Oh well At least by the end of all this I might know somthing about CNC equipment.

Good to hear. I was photographing that manual like a spy, I had two minutes.

I would really like to get that PDF and post it on my website. Could you email it to ichudov@gmail.com, as a favor.

Thanks

Back again and I've got some new pictures of the reinstall of the (rebuilt) motor!

Turns out all it needed was "cleaning" the factory that this came out of did not care about containing the flood coolant and it was a nasty type of flood coolant at that so much so that the motor was half filled up with caked in old coolant.

So they did a good job making sure it worked like new and without further adew the pictures!
