Had a problem with my BP dropping tools at the spindle on pick up. Looked like the drawbar(don't really know what else to call it) was slow on the pick up and the ATC arm was moving away too soon. Went through all of the parameters, switches, tool holders, etc. Turned out the air cylinder requires LARGE volumes of air to move quick enough and grab the tool holder. I have 3/4" lines to the machine but only had a 1/4" umbilical from the wall to the machine. Changed it out to 3/8 and changed real quick. It's getting a 1/2" with 1/2" couplers this weekend. FYI for future reference. |

| ATC arm moves away from spindle ONLY when tool clamp limit switch is hit, which is located on the upper side of spindle and the cylinder. when limit switch is hit, it means tool is correctly clamped. So check if the limit switch is hit but tool is actually not clamped. its either the switch position or cylinder problem. |
