hello all have i had a bad day
the battery holder decided to fail after inputing all the machine parameters i have a problem with limit switches not being recognised and the table over travelled and jamed thank god i had the feed rates turned right down, i have unjamed the machine but iam still having problems ref machine can any one tell me where you get the values for a particular machine ie 31 to 36
i have also noticed on here there seems to be different parameters, which are the correct ones i have a series 1 which has 78 parameters.
any info would be brilliant thanks
cheers andy

I suppose knowing what machine it is would be helpful............
I don't suppose you looked down the page and found the thread titled bridgeport heidenhain parameter lists?

Andy, you cannot use certain parameters from the lists that people keep posting here.Well, actually you can and you will get the kind of problems you are having.
Parameters 31 to 36 inclusive have to be determined on the machine. There is quite a simple procedure for this.
First of all post what the machine is.If it`s an Interact it will say on the front of the head what it is.
If you do not have the maintenance manual for the machine,PM me and I will scan the section for you that tells you how to determine what the travel distance parameters are.
Btw,you could pick a better team to support.

If one uses the 'wrong' parameter list then lots of problems ensue. The 6 parameters are the only truly machine specific parameters. Others may have been tweeked, but usually are not.
Guessing would be much worse.
Since you are on that side of the pond, odds are it is an Interact[do learn to be specific]
If the machine is jamming, rather than homing and refusing to move afterwards, I would not suspect those parameters, but one or more of several others regarding referencing.
Also the trip dogs[not really limit switches] are double sided[NO NC], the 145 wants to see both sides[I know not why] and when it does not it will overrun the trip dog, but it should then hit the hard stop switch. It should not be bound up.
Make sure that the machine is homing in the directions you are familiar with, or you may also get what you see, still should never bind up.
