I am having an issue creating a spot drill using mcx3. I have a 1" solid block that I have defined with a stock setup extended .5" on each side. I want to drill a .25" hole in the block, but first want to spot drill above where the hole will be at the top of the stock. I have z=0 set to top of block. Therefore top of stock is z=.5. I created a drill toolpath for the spot drill and set the Top Of Stock =.5 and the hole depth = .4 So I expect the spot drill to go into the top of the stock .1" deep The back plot looks correct, but whe I run it, the spot drill wants to go .1" into the block!, or .6" deep from the top of the stock. The g-code explains why this is happening: N20 M06 T1 N30 S1069 M03 N40 G0 X.651 Y-.35 N50 G0 Z1. M08 N60 G81 X.651 Y-.35 Z1.6 F1.1 N70 X1.599 N80 G80 N90 M09 N100 G00 M25 N110 M22 I understand that the canned cycle works on a offset from the last z position and is a non-signed number. SO I see that it goes from Z1. to Z1.6 which is -.6 from top of stock. I have tried everything variable and i can't get the g-code to produce something with a z1.1 like this: N20 M06 T1 N30 S1069 M03 N40 G0 X.651 Y-.35 N50 G0 Z1. M08 N60 G81 X.651 Y-.35 Z1.1 F1.1 Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? I have attached the MCX file that i am working with if you can take a look. |
