George, After PM'ing you, I contacted EMI regarding getting the Digitizing software for the Bridgeport DX-32. To my surprise, they told me that it was kinda buggy, and not compatible with the latest DX-32 firmware. Consequently, they won't supply it in any capacity. Any thoughts on this, or ideas on how to acquire it? I remember there was some level of debate regarding software sharing for these machines in another thread. What does someone do when it is not even available to purchase? I appreciate any help on this matter, Brian EFI-Unlimited |

| I have seen the digitizing software once at a show many years ago on a V2XT digitizing one half of a utility knife handle. It was being demonstrated by Bridgeport application engineers. I have never installed it nor had it. I also know that whatever stylus you had had to be the same size as the cutter you were going to use. I guess you could import the points into a 3D cam software but I am not certain. Later I did install a probe interface on a Bridgeport VMC3020 with a Fanuc control. Bridgeport visited that customer but could not make it work. 20 years ago in Florence Alabama, Steve B. modified a R2E3 to probe and spit out points to a TRS80 Model 100. But he was a genius and could do these kind of things. Sorry, but I cannot help you. For EMI the cost of development spread over a very limited user purchase potential is self limiting and thus not profitable. George
