I bought a 1997 torq cut 22 about 3 months ago. Ever since I got it has had this same problem... only now its worse. When I turn the power on in the back usually I get to the c prompt and type RUN and it boots up fine, sometimes it won't boot it just goes back to the flashing c prompt again. If I turn the power off it usually works the 2nd or 3rd time. But, sometimes when I turn the main power on all I get on the screen is RGB no input signal. again if I shut it down a couple times it usually works... not today. I have spent all day trying to get it to boot and nothing.... I have checked fuses, breakers...and fiddled with alot of plugs and still nothing. I even tried earlier rebooting the start up disc, (sometimes that works) but still nothing, and now I can't even get the screen to boot past this RGB no input signal. Any ideas ??? |

| It is possible you have a bad logic power supply, a bad motherboard, or a bad video board. does it at least seek the floppy for a few seconds during the boot time? If so the mother board is at least functioning. Then take out the video board (if so equipped), clean the edge connector with a soft eraser and put it back in. If not get a meter and check that at a 4 pi plug coming out of the logic power supply you have 5VDC between red and black and 12VDC between yellow and black. George

| I have had this problem at times also. I end up cleaning things and usually get it to run. Sometimes I believe that turning power on and off several times getting it to boot is what took out my BMDC board. Just a thought but it was after my machine sat a month it didnt want to boot up and I tryed about four times powering on and off and thats when my BMDC went out, maybe a coincidence but I have wondered about it. |
