I heard mention of a recommended upgrade of an additional fan in the control housing mentioned on this forum. Does anyone know the details of this? Was this a bridgeport tech bulletin? After powering up my machine I realized all the circulation fans on the controls are shot anyways... Thanks! james |

| The electrical cabinet has fans in it and it is critical to keep them in good shape as in the original design there is NO provisions for outside air exchange or circulation. The older BOSS machine suffered from a lot of coolant saturated air depositing the coolant and other dirt on the boards. Thus this new design using the large electrical box as a heat exchanger. It did not work very well. IN july of 1986 Bridgeport started exchanging doors on the R2E4. You would get the door with a fan and filter in the bottom and a vent to exhaust the air in the top. The fan was about a 5 inch unit running at 115VAC. You returned them your door, which was modified and sent to someone else. This was called the "Retrofit cooling package- R2E4/V2E3". Part number was 12749087. I believe this has not been available for a LONG time. George
