Hello ..........
i need help please, i have a bridgeport R2E3 mill with boss 8 control.
on the screen it shows DNC off when i try to reset program.how do you turn on DNC ?

Hi Sab,

Have you been able to sucessfully connect a computer to your mill for uploading programs from the computer? Loading programs into memory instead of DNC should be what you try first. That is the first step to make sure that the connection is working properly. On my R2E3, I use the files in the "Ezlink Utilities.zip" file that I was able to download from some of the great users on this website. I have read several threads indicating that you need an older computer and old OS in order to sucessfully communicate with the mill. I have had great success uploading programs, downloading programs and drip feeding my mill using a newer Acer Aspire One netbook with a Keyspan USB to serial converter.

Assuming you have a good connection:

Hit the "load clear edit" button on the panel
The menu has several options for loading from REM (computer), to REM, and load dnc.
Follow the option for load dnc by selecting the number option and psuhing execute.
It should show "LOAD DNC:" on the top line of the display
Type the program name, usually a 3 digit number named text file (i.e. 123.txt)stored in the folder where your program is looking
Screen should show "LOAD DNC: 123"
Press execute
If it is sucessful the second line on the dispaly should show "DNC LINK".
If you see "DNC LINK" press the "auto block" button and you should be good to go.
