EZ Trak SX (cantilever/floppy in back). Installed new HDD and floppy. Received replacement software from EMI. Installation of software went without a hitch. Restarted Machine and got "fatal error 286.2230 -- insufficient memory" Any help will be appreciated |

Can you post a copy of the Autoexec.bat and config.sys files? |

| I do not think a SX TRAK was meant to have a 3rd axis. What mother board do you have? Also Bridgeport had a upgrade because the original Z axis motors had no rotary encoders. Instead they relied on the Z linear scale which with vibration could misread and the Z axis would correct sometimes with unwanted consequences. Thus they supplied dealers with kits to upgrade these machines with rotary encoders on the motors. The SX machines had BMDC2 boards which would not support an additional axis input. George

| It is a linear scale. Motherboard is ATX MINI #09-00140-01 rev A9220 Now a bit of history. We first thought the HDD controller card was bad, as the HDD was not recognized. Then we found the HDD was bad. Then we found the floppy drive was bad as it erased all info on disks. We finally determined that the Motherboard was bad. We replaced all hardware, and since any software (including backups) was erased we bought new software from EMI. We were using version 3, but now have version 6. EMI said this should be no problem. |
