Heidenhain cnc splitter.!?

Hi. we recently bought a Cad/cam software named Cammodul 3d ( based on Rhino 4.0 ) a nice program and easy to work with.. But we only have the Tnc 150 cnc on our mill and the programs get´s pretty big when creating them. Is there anyone out there who has a splitter that cut´s the program every 900 blocks or so? I have earlier modyfied the program on excel and that is a real pain in the... The cammodul creators gave me a splitter but it does´nt work. On a program with 41000blocks it splits it into 14 files.

If i only can get the splitter to work it would have saved me a lot of time, the good thing about it is that it starts every file with 0 BEGIN PGM x MM and stops it with STOP M02. The bad thing is that it only splits 1/3 of the total program LOL.

If there´s anyone who can help us, it would be Great.

Thanks.
/Johan.

Buy me a Beer?

Not sure whether it will help in your case, but many post processors will repeat modal commands on every line.
For example while in G01 you only need it once until a G00, again only once.
There are often other similar examples that add up files can be trimmed by a large amount ways.

Hi. Ok but in my case the heidenhain is´nt using G-codes. My programs consist of 0 BEGIN PGM 1 MM 1 TOOL DEF and so on. So i need a splitter that counts the lines in the file and splits it before it reaches 999 blocks.

I have never done it, but can't you drip feed the 150?

Also, a better post might take advantage of the control and use fewer blocks depending on what you are doing

Gus. No i think it´s the 151 or the 155 that accepts the drip feed. I guess you´re right about the post processor. I only have the PP that was included in the cam software. Is there any way to modify the PP? I have never done this before.
