EZ-Trak DX Fixed...Thanks to You Guys!!! | | Hi,
My dad has a 1995ish EZ-Trak DX and it doesn't get used as a CNC very often. So that stupid little NiCad battery took a crap...again. This time, the mother board got toasted (i kinda think the ol' man killed it using the wrong flux last time he soldered the battery back on. The traces under the batt were grey and black instead of pretty gold.
Anyway, from reading through the posts and help offered by the members here, I "commandeered" a Pentium 200 from my Mother-in-law, fit it up and it fired right up!!! I was even able to ditch the disk drive controller in favor of the on-board ports in the newer MB. AAAAAND, no more nicad batts...this one has the non-leaking, easily-replaceable lithium battery. YAY!!!!!!!
I wouldn't have been able to do it without the information posted here. I can't thank you guys enough.
BTW, grand total for the fix...less than $50...and 30 of that went into a new PC power supply.
I've got one more pentium that is going into storage... i hope i never need it.
Thanks again all,
Don |
