i am new to cnc drilling and tapping.i have a newer hardinge bridgeport mill and not sure where to start as far as speeds and feeds . getting ready to start a big job with lots of holes in aluminum.any help? |

| I posted here in error, so I deleted my post and posted it to the right thread. As for speeds and feeds though. Hmmmm... I don't know much about it as my CAM software, VisualMill, has a built in speeds and feeds calculator that I use. The only thing I could suggest is that there are tables and software and stuff that you can find online for calculating speeds and feeds. Try a Google search and see what comes up. Aside from that, it's a huge subject and I'm sure you'll get lots of replies that are more robust. Last edited by quazga; 10-06-2010 at 12:20 AM. |

| A jouneyman machinist would know the answer. I hope you do not get hurt. But from a service standpoint, a machine such as a EZTRAK or V2XT, Interact 1 or 2, old BOSS machines have a overload on the spindle motor and will trip with frequent spindle reversals. The typical series 1 standard will not have a problem (but monitor the motor temperature) nor will the vertical machining centers with electronic spindle drives. George
