hi , i have an eztrak 3 axis machine , and have noticed that when i jog x or y axis the z axis wiggles slightly , i have just upgraded the motherboard , and backplane board , but this problem existed before . my machine has the cantilever arm z axis with no encoder on the z axis. thanks r brintle Last edited by brinmac; 10-05-2010 at 07:51 PM. | This is why Bridgeport was forced to upgrade these machines with a Z motor encoder as vibration could cause the Z axis to misread and reposition itself. The Z axis is relying on a linear scale that is over 10 years old for positioning. Make sure nothing is loose on the scale and reader head. Also check frequently the nose piece. These would come loose and even break regularly. George
