Our V2XT recently quit ("machine check failed" thread) and we have a 2SQ service tech coming wednsday to troubleshoot it. If its another bad board - I am thinking of retrofitting the control with maybe Mach2, and gecko drives. Anyone have any thoughts on this? If we indeed blew another board theres at least a $1K bill, seems like we could retrofit for less than that. Are the motors resolver or encoder feedback......will geckos work for either? Thanks Scott |

| The machine uses encoders on the back of each motor. If this is a BMDC machine, pull the BMDC out and clean the edge connector with a soft eraser. Then push it back into same slot or another ISA slot. Check CMOS that it is set for hard drive correctly. Go to DOS and do a Scan Disk and a DEFRAG if you have DOS 6.20. Good luck! George
