Trying to wire up a Bridgeport series one 1 hp 3 ph motor. I know how to wire up but I'm not sure which wire is 9 and which is 6 due to the labels. (The motor was wired as 440 volt and I'm going to 220 volt.) One wire has a label that is clearly a 6 or 9, the other wire label looks like a sloppy 6 with a tail. Is there a way to use a meter to figure out which is which??? |

| Not all motors conform, but commonly the 6 has continuity to 3. You would need to separate all the ends to check. Al.
