Need Bridgeport motor - 220, 3-phase

Greetings all from a new member.
Having moved into a new shop, I Need a motor (220, 3-phase) for my vintage Bridgeport. Vertical mill is Model # 4929, Serial # M7976.
Current motor is 440, 1/2 HP, and is not rewire-able, Motor shop says +/- $800 to rewind it. Hoping for a less expensive solution. If so, the 440 is available.

that's a little pricey for a rewind. here where i am at a local rewind shop i priced a rewind of my spindle motor for my eztrak sx witch is a 2hp motor the rewind was only 300. i would try a different place.

You could also buy a 220-440V transformer for less than $800.

I had a bridgeport motor rewound by http://www.bandjelectric.com/ and it was no where near that price. Give B&J a shot. Don't know where you are, but can always ship it.

Is this a M head machine? May explain the high cost of a rewind.
A transformer would be cheaper as this is a small motor.
