I'm looking at vfd's for my boss 5. It has a 2 hp motor and would like to use a vfd as a phase converter too. Should a 2 hp vfd be used or should I get a larger one?

I'm needing one too.

I just purchased a J-head 9x42 Bridgeport 1 HP belt drive a couple hours ago and I'm pumped.

Not only the HP size but want actual drive would one suggest. Need single phase in and three phase out and constant torque.

It's going to be a long week to wait to pickup the mill.

Get a 2 hp. vfd that's rated for 1 phase input and you're good. Otherwise you'd need a larger one. 2 hp. 1 phase units are readily available.

Were you talking to loose1 or me. He has 2hp, I have 1hp.
