Could anyone tell me where I could get replacement wipers, bumpers and seals for the telescoping stainless way covers on a 1998 Hardinge VMC 600. I called Hardinge and they claim they can't, or won't sell parts. They want to sell me an entire set of new covers at a cost of over $2200.00. There has to be a cheaper way. Any advice would be apreciated. Thanks, Pete |

| yeah, you gotta buy the whole thing. i live here in elmira where hardinge is located. i wanted a replacement wiper for our conquest g.t., but we have to get a whole new setup for $800. so now we're debating on when to do it or if we will. we had our vmc 1000 's replaced, but i think it was under warranty. try surfin the net for used parts, etc. tryhttp://www.actionmachinery.com/ they sell alot of hardinge products |

| Sometimes you can find a plate on the way cover with the manufacturer. Then "google" it. Manufacturers have to draw the line somewhere as to what extent they carry spares. I thought the Hardinge VMC were YANGs built to their specs. (My office sold YANGs for about 6 months.) That may help you also. Example; Bridgeport VMC have plastic fexible wireways beneath the table that fall apart. In tiny letters I found "Kable slepp" written on it. I googled that and found the distributor in the US and could buy a bag of the missing pieces. Good luck. Elmira? I had a Schweitzer 1-26 glider. It's serial number was 002 (tied down at Middletown, NY). Serial number 001 I am told is in the soaring society museum in Elmira. When I went there the museum was closed but that is a hell of a drop into the valley off the runway! I went to Corning instead. George
