Ive recently acquired a Bridgeport boss6 series 1 cnc mill and was wondering if I could run the entire thing off of a VFD since I do not have access to 3 phase power? Is this possible or will it hurt something in the process? Thanks |

| You could either get a phase converter (different from a VFD) and be ready to go or you could run the axis drives from single phase and use a VFD for the spindle motor. It would take some rewiring to run the axis drives from single phase but it can be done. Each one uses one leg of the 3 phase power. You just need to connect all three to the single phase. I am not sure what all is involved with this but I have heard of people doing it. Matt |
