I recently got a bridgeport r2e3 and am trying to get it up and running. Upon startup, it displays error code 4000 and the fault lights in all three drives is illuminated. Any thoughts or advise would be appreciated. |

| Enable the drives and have someone watch them. For a split second the lights will go out on the good drives. Assuming you isolated the bad axis, mark it and swap it with another drive. If the problem follows the drive, it may be the drive, otherwise it may be the motor or cables. George

finally back from vacation and trying to figure out my mill. Upon enabline axis drives error 4000 blinks on the display. The fault lights in all three drives show fault instantly. I have observed them very carefully and they appear to all light at the moment you enable the axis drives. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

| You may need to hook up the FIST monitor. Directions are in the maintenance manual. George

| The R2E3 has a very limited display. For that reason, Bridgeport came up with the FIST monitor. I use a old compaq laptop running WIN95 and use PROCOMM in the chat mode. This allows me to access the boards and a event monitor that is a lot more specific. It is accessed through K3 on the FMDC board. Directions are in the maintenance manual. George
