Here are the instructions as copied from a sheet I got from Bridgeport. I'm only familiar with the TNC-15x control but these instructions cover other controls, too. Note that the parameter numbers do not show up in the Heidenhain manual because these are generic 'position values' which may be used by the OEM in any way they wish when the PLC logic is written. 1. Put a tool holder in the spindle. 2. Turn off the air. 3. Select the REF positioning display on the control (TNC) (Machine position on a Fanuc OM mate MF). 4. Adjust the position of the Z axis using the handwheel, so that when the carousel is pulled forward it engages the tool holder, at the correct height. (There is a picture of this which shows more engagement on the bottom of the toolholder groove (almost touching) and a slight gap on the top of it rather than having the carousel ring dead centered up and down in the toolholder groove. It looks as if the carousel is 'drooping' slightly when it touches the toolholder.) 5. Enter the figure displayed in the Z axis display into the relevant parameter, for the type of control fitted: TNC 15x or 35x - parameter 126 TNC 2500 - parameter 4210.0 OM MATE MF - parameter 737 At this point, I think I would want to run a couple of tool changes with no toolholders just to be sure - this thing can do some damage if it is offset (I know this the hard way!). It would also be a good idea to save the params after this - or, at least, write down the z-height after you have verified it. Hope this helps. Mark |
