Hi, I have a torqcut22 machine that I'm trying to get the dnc working on. What I need help on is getting the serial to connect to my pc,(had it loading small programs so the connection worked.) I'd like to load and want to run programs out of pc's memory. Any help would be appreciated as this is my first cnc. I have operated Eztraks for last 15 years though not much help with the torqcut operation. thanks |

| This needs to be answered by a user/owner of a DX32 control that the Torque Cut 22 uses. I know of many people doing DNC on this control but from the internal hard drive (or other mass storage device) of the machine. Not from a slaved PC with RS232. George

| Yes, I have a few mold shops that have done exactly that. Because it takes such a long time to load their 3D programs to the machine hard drive if they used RS232. Then they DNC from the hard drive. It will require a networking card as you said. George

| Look here: http://jaliyablogs.blogspot.com/2008...eport-cnc.html and if you want a commercial solution, it looks like this might work: http://www.predator-software.com/Pre...C_Software.htm Please post what you get to work, as I have one of these machines too. I might need to do this someday but I sure hope not! |

| Have been working on the hard drive on my torqcut, had a friend install windows98 C: drive. Machine has cd ability's now,d: drive. The issue I'm having with it now is the readout is just symbols now, tried running a large program with dnc. Program ran fine, but didn't have feed outride, couldn't turn on. If the readout bugs can be resolved I'm going to install usb flash drive ability. Any thoughts on the readout, most every thing else seems to work.Maybe install a newer version of dos, does one for the dx32 exist? I can post a picture of what the screen looks like if it helps. will take one tomorrow. thanks for the help so far. |

| You should switch to dos using ALT and TAB then run RUN.BAT which should load the machine software under DOS and not windows. This loads the correct fonts that the machine software needs. George

| My question is why did you go with Windows on the machine puter? You can network via DOS using the network drivers from windows 3.11, that's pretty much what mine is running via a network card and regular netgear wired router. I've pulled up a quick test program from the shop puter but haven't done anything big enough for the DNC yet. I got a seat of OneCNC but haven't played with it enough to post stuff to the mill. There were quite a few hurdles to cross getting the network setup but when it works ![]() Jamie |

I'm trying windows 98 because of the ability to use a ubs stick for loading programs to c: I'm not great with networking so a friend helps on the weekends getting the computers to communicate. I've heard 3.11 is the way to get the machine working properly but no cd or usb ability. will post more if I find out it can run on 98 without the problems I've encountered thus far. Downloading through the rs232 is not worth the time, baud at 19200, 1 program still was not loaded after 40 minutes. Playing around with windows and the cd drive it took about 5 seconds to put all the files for the part on c:, 3 files aprox 2500kb each. |

| Bridgeport had a enhanced performance option for quite a while. I remember installing a 387 math co-processor and additional memory in a VMC760. This to run Windows 3.1. I understand your idea with Win98SE. But why not dual boot? then you could run the machine in DOS and the rest with Win98. How are you going to wire USB ports? Typically they are on the mother board. Can you find a PCI or ISA card that will allow USB? If you go the mother board route, be careful with processor speed. Too fast and you will have issues with communication to the BMDC. George
