I have new to me machine and I don't know what I am doing. So I need some help. I am trying to run a simple program on a 1993 Bridgeport V2XT with SX-15 controls. This is my program. N10 G90 N20 G0 X23. Y10. Z0. N30 G1 X22. Y9. Z0. Machine start up I enable the drives and home the axis. I hit F7 to load the program. I select Y to load to CNC. I start the spindle. I hit 5 and then enter to reset the program. I hit 1 for auto run. I turn the selector switch to start. Nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? |

| Have you set part program zero? Set a TLO and commanded a tool change? You called up a feedrate but did not give it a feed rate. Is feedrate override set to ZERO? George

| [QUOTE=machintek;741165]Have you set part program zero? No, I will have to learn how to do that. "Set a TLO and commanded a tool change?" I did set TLO for tool 1 but did not command a tool change. I will research how to command a tool change. "You called up a feedrate but did not give it a feed rate. Is feedrate override set to ZERO?" On the screen it shows feed rate override OFF at 100% and don't know how to give it a feed rate so more research. This points me in the right direction to learn more so thanks for all the help. I will post more on my next attempts. Tony |

| You need a programming manual and a operating manual. A G1 is a feedrate moves and requires a F value. If your rapid G0 move cannot be achieved because of where zero has been set (for any axis) again the machine will not move. machinemanuals.net has manuals on CDROM. The yahoo V2XT users group also has manuals that can be downloaded. George

| Got it working. The trick was to set the part program zero. Also you can check general command with the MDI screen. I got my command for rapid working with MDI and then put in a part program. Just remember to include the . in all position and feedrate values. Thanks for the help. Next how to tune a servo drive. My Z axis has noticeable overshoot. |
