    Default new to cnc

    Well i must start somewhere
Hello to all my name is Hary Moore
I live in the dallas texas area
I just purchased a Bridgeport BOSS
I was told this is a working machine
It has the paper punch system still on machine
It also has a PC loaded with PORCOM and several design softwares
All motors (stepper) work in jog mode
I think it is called a J head, the head is bolted on and will not tilt
I am looking for some direction in the way of setting PROCOM to com
    with the controls.
I also need a wireing diagram for the serial cable so i can check it out
    Any help will be wonderful
    thanks
    Harry

    Harry,

I can't really help you with the hardware of your "new" machine, but I can probably help with programming, machining, and set up questions you might have. I do not know your machining experience level, but I am working on starting some machinist training classes in Dallas. If you have interest, email me at txcncman@kirkcon.com.

You will need to communicate with this machine. To edit and to load.
Need a email address. There is a Bridgeport tech doc that explains a lot of this.
Also searching this forum will yield a lot of data.
