Is this the one?
Trying to update my old computer in the shop to the build before 1812 but can’t find it.
I tried using build 1812 but it asks me for solid works before continuing.
What was the build before and how do I get it for V23.
1812 should not be asking for solidworks.
It says please install solidworks to continue.
How do know what build I have, can I see it on my computer.
Help and then select About Bobcad.
My desktop in the office says build (1812)
My shop computer says build (1)
I don't enternet on the shop unit so I copied it to a stick, put it in my doc's and ran it, says the same thing " a support version of solidworks was not found on this computer, please install before continuing"
It looks my office unit still took the upgade.
The problem is I can't transfare a bobcad file to my shop computer, it says
" unexpected file format"
Now I remember. I think my computer needs the windows 3 service pack or something like that but the computer doesn't have internet, now what..
It looks like the shop computer has the solidworks version loaded on it.. You may have inadvertently downloaded the wrong installer. Please see my response here:
I put a link to the V23 build 1812 update in it. But you will need to uninstall the Solidworks version on the shop computer, and install a V23 "Full version" first, as this is an update installer.. Do you have your original full installer?
Here is a link to an original full installer:
Hi Burrman, I seem to remember you telling me I needed windows service pack?
I don't have Solidworks on a either computer and they both ask the same question.
A support version of SW was found on this computer please install before continuing.
BobCad has a solidworks version of their software. The build you are showing for the shop computer is the solidworks version. You will need to uninstall that version and install the 1326 full installer I linked to, then update that to 1812 with the 1812 update patch.
Having the service packs and updates for windows is just a good idea. Running windows update keeps your computer spiffy and less vulnerable. Those critical updates are windows fixing bugs or security vulnerabilities.
Hi Burrman, I was replying to you on the Bobcad forum take a look and will stay on the zone.
Lets finish it at the BobCad forum. There, we will have a better chance to see a BobCad rep jump in to help.
Basically, the issue is having a newer version installed and trying to roll back. We may get it sorted in the forum, but it may get more involved with a registry edit, and we would be better served to involve BobCads support for this, so we dont get things really screwy in the forums.
