Problem- BobCAD V23 won't open Solidworks 2009 sldprt

I just bought V23 with the dongle license. I am using Solidworks 2009. I am able to open sldprt parts on my PC which is running XP 32 bit....but my laptop is running XP 64 bit, and will not open sldprt - the option is there, but it errors and says "open Failed"... I am able to open a step file, but not a native Solidworks.

I read on the BobCAD forum that it could be a .net version issue, so I downloaded what they suggested but it still doesnt work...

Does anyone know if it could be a windows service pack issue, or some other weird software compatibility problem?

Give support a call. You simply need the Solidworks files for 32 bit OSes installed and registered. The support guys can direct you to the files and give you the instructions on how to register them.

I had a similar issue with a 64bit system. You would think that a 64bit system would include all of the infrastructure required to run 32bit files, but it doesn’t work that way. As said previously, this should be an easy fix once they point you to the right files.
